Lab Manager - Lab Design Conference

Following its acquisition of the Lab Design Conference, Lab Manager is excited to announce the addition of a special Lab Manager track on the first day of this in-person event. Subject matter experts will discuss the relationship between lab managers and design/build teams, and will offer inside knowledge of how to ensure a smooth process when engaging in a new laboratory build or a renovation project. Learn how to work with lab management to determine the choices that need to be made for their project; discover how cultural trends can influence a project roadmap and take note of the criteria needed to hire design and construction professionals; understand the different communication strategies to effectively communicate wants vs needs with site users; find out how a strong project planning foundation can help you cope with unexpected changes during a new build or renovation project; and hear about the techniques and innovations used by award-winning lab projects to create research institutions that are aesthetically pleasing while at the same time encouraging scientific advancement.

Other speakers at this exciting in-person event will discuss other topics including the latest technology related to sustainable lab design, the latest trends in lab design, future-proofing your lab, optimizing underused spaces, converting non-scientific spaces into laboratories, and what the next few years hold for the design/build community. Industry experts will also offer real-life case studies, and will share the strategies that worked for them and the unexpected challenges that they faced along the way. Earn valuable AIA Continuing Education Credits at this event by attending these educational sessions.

The Lab Design Conference will also offer a friendly, relaxed environment for networking and socialization, and an exhibit hall with professionals at the forefront of the design/build industry. Optional tours of innovative labs in the San Diego area will be offered on May 18.
